The Return Home

Exit to London

Back in the Darling Home, Mr. and Mrs. Darling were in grief. Every night, they left the window open, hoping for their return. One night, the children flew in. John and Michael started to remember their old room and family. Wendy suggested slipping into their beds, so when their mother came, it would be as if they never left.

Mrs. Darling entered, astonished at the sight of full beds, believing it to be a dream. But as each child called to her, the reality set in. They embraced joyfully. There could not have been a lovelier sight. Down below waited the other boys. The couple gladly took all of them. Peter was watching it all, peering in through the window. Given one last chance to stay, he declined once more. He flew away, but this wasn’t goodbye.
